We have looked into publications for the LookBook, and different packaging that we could look at for inspiration.
We are thinking of creating a LookBook for the new Autumn/Winter collection 2013 Ted Baker and calling the campaign 'When in Rome...', taking it to Italy. The first part of the publication will be all about Ted Baker/British fashion and culture, and the second part will be the LookBook for the new collection out in september. We want to keep our design stylish, minimalist and classy in keeping with the high end reputation Italian fashion has.
Black and white images would make the publications style more consistent throughout and give it that classy and unisex style about it. Simple pages with columns and stylish high end fashion type faces will accompany this.
I think large photographs of models covering the page gives it a high end fashion magazine, LookBook feel, and we will definitely be imitating this style when putting together our own publication together.
We will be paying attention to stock and processes when creating our publication, making an effort to foil, emboss, bind and possibly laser cut to give it a high quality feel.
In the crit feedback it was suggested that we create an event that we could make invitations for and letter heads etc. I thought this would be a good idea because it can be simple design but be effective. We have thought about creating a cat walk fashion show modelling the Ted Baker A/W 2013 collection which would take place in Rome and Milan. I have been looking at card folders/letter heads with quite simple, fashion orientated design that could be used to enclose the collection of products such as the LookBook, the letter head, the invitation etc. Foiling would work well for this, its subtle but indicates high quality design when done right.
